Wimzzi on RTBF: giving a voice to local buying

By RTBF le 6-8, on 29/01/2026

That morning, Wimzzi took to the airwaves.

Just a few minutes on the radio, but with a powerful message: buying local today is a true societal choice.

Invited to the programme Le 6–8 on RTBF, Laetitia Dangoisse, co-founder of Wimzzi, had the opportunity to speak with Walid, journalist on the show, to share the story of the platform — and above all, the stories of the Belgian artisans and local producers Wimzzi supports every day.

Buying local is not a trend. It’s a commitment.

Behind every creation sold on Wimzzi, there is:

  • a workshop,
  • craftsmanship,
  • skilled hands,
  • time,
  • and a genuine approach.

On air, Laetitia highlighted this often invisible reality:

local is not a plan B, but a different way of consuming — more conscious, more human and more sustainable.

Wimzzi, a platform… but above all a community

Wimzzi is not “just” a marketplace.

It is a bridge between Belgian makers and consumers, a platform designed to:

  • showcase handmade creations,
  • support the local economy,
  • give real visibility to creators,
  • and restore meaning to the act of buying.

The conversation also shed light on a key issue: the importance of offering artisans a professional framework that combines visibility, e-commerce and support — without ever compromising their work or identity.

Why this visibility matters so much

Being on the radio is more than a proud moment.

It’s an opportunity to:

  • remind people that Belgian craftsmanship is very much alive,
  • show that credible alternatives to e-commerce giants do exist,
  • and encourage everyone to consume differently, in their own way.

Every listen, every share, every local purchase matters.

Thank you 💛

Thank you to Walid and the Le 6–8 RTBF team for this thoughtful and generous exchange.

Thank you to the listeners for their curiosity.

And above all, thank you to the Wimzzi artisans, who give meaning to this journey every single day.
